In a "Call to arms" for the aircraft values appraisal industry, Avolon suggests smarter financial analysis

The paper, one of a series of regular thought papers by Avolon head of strategy, and ISTAT board member Dick Forsberg, says, amongst other things, that appraisers should demonstrate their track record in a verifiable way by using techniques "that withstand scrutiny from experienced capital markets fund managers and investors". It also says that appraisers "must become more diligent in ensuring that changes made to current value opinions are reflective of the vintage of the asset and do not rely on the extrapolation of trading data from one age bracket to another".
