Mick Moroney is a Director with EY Financial Services. He joined EY as a graduate in 2006, and has worked with a wide range of clients within the aviation finance, asset management, private equity and banking sectors,primarily providing tax advisory and compliance services.

Mick has broad experience in designing and implementing international and domestic structures, including for aviation finance and other large ticket asset leasing platforms, regulated and unregulated structures for asset management groups, and structured finance and securitisation transactions. Recent experience includes advising on, and implementing, a number of aircraft leasing structures (including aircraft ABS transactions), and Irish regulated and unregulated investment structures; covering areas such as tax modelling, double tax treaty access (including US tax treaty specific considerations), transactions taxes, debt financing and ongoing compliance management.

Mick has also advised a number of large asset management and private equity groups on the impact of the new Irish Real Estate Funds (IREF) tax regime on their Irish investment structures, as well as advising institutional investors holding investments in such structures.

Mick spent more than two and half years working in the EY international tax practice in New York City, where he served as the Irish lead on the EMEIA financial services tax desk advising US and North American clients investing in and through Ireland. He is also a member of EY's global shipping network and EY's aviation finance group. He has spoken at industry events on the impact of international tax law change on regulated and unregulated structures, and structured finance transactions, as well as contributed to publications such as IBFD.

He is a member of both the Chartered Accountants Ireland and the Irish Tax Institute. He has been involved in a number of Irish Funds working groups, and is currently a member of the Domestic Tax Working Group.
