Aviation, finance, and the leasing dimension - Dick Forsberg's calls for 2014
Dick Forsberg, head of strategy at Avolon, takes out his 2014 crystal ball and assesses the global perspectives for financing, leasing, aircraft demand, and airline profitability. He makes 10 calls for the year including a prediction that public lessor stock prices will rise further, by 10-20 per cent, and that capital markets will finance at least 15 per cent of 2014 new aircraft deliveries. Looking back on his calls published in Aviation Finance a year ago he scored a 7/9 strike rate (including his call on the original ILFC deal being aborted), with the jury still out on one other.
